We are pleased to announce the release (9/1/2011) of version 6.541 of the Triskelon eCommerce Shopping Cart. Prior shopping cart versions were available as part of the Web Builder integrated software suite. However, as of this version, our shopping cart software is now fully modular. That is, it can operate with or without the integrated suite. It is also mobile friendly, and vastly more feature rich than prior shopping cart versions. As with all Triskelon software, the shopping cart user experience is simple and elegant both for you and your customers.

As most shopping carts are not mobile friendly, it is not an exaggeration to say that our web 2.0 shopping cart software is now the best available for small-to-medium sized businesses who wish to build shopping websites to sell tangible products, based within the 48 contiguous United States, plus Alaska and the District of Columbia.

A Professional, Yet Affordable, Shopping Cart Solution

For unlimited part numbers, the one-time lifetime licensing fee is $300. For 25 or fewer unique part numbers, the license is free! Either way, labor is required for installation, custom configuration, and custom skinning, for which we charge a one-time fee of $200.

  Configuration does not include populating your online store with products. Product data formatting and import services, if any, would be additional. You can enter your own product data after training, so product data formatting and import services are optional. Configuration does not include defining applicable sales taxes. You will be able to define your sales taxes yourself after training or, optionally, you may hire Triskelon to research and define sales taxes for you based on your types of products offered for sale, your localities with nexus, and the requirements of taxing agencies that have jurisdiction in those localities.

Our ecommerce shopping cart software is not a hosted solution or software as a service. These services often result in a significantly higher cost of ownership over time. Rather our web 2.0 shopping cart is software, installed on your web server, which carries a one-time lifetime licensing fee (waived for stores with 25 or fewer unique part numbers), so you get more bang for your buck than with hosted solutions.

There is no more comprehensive yet affordable solution for shopping websites which carry 25 or fewer unique part numbers.

Staff Training

Training is required and available for $90. In-person training is available in the Seattle/Bellevue/Everett/Monroe area. Training by teleconference also possible. One 1-hour training class, in a one-on-one setting, to enable you or your staff to administer, manage products, and fill orders in your online store using a friendly menu-driven user interface. If there is a database of products to be imported to the online store, this should be done before training. No prior web skills required. Basic computer literacy is required.

CCSZ Service

Sales tax management for online stores is not as simple as it once was. Online stores can no longer afford to charge just one flat sales tax rate on all orders being shipped to destinations within their own state, and leave it at that. There are thousands of state and local taxing agencies in the United States, and they are all clamoring for their “cut” of growing online sales. Despite a tax reform movement lead by state governments, there is not yet any nationwide standardization in sales tax collection rules, nor any online support services to enable collection of uniform nationwide sales taxes that are practicable and priced for small business owners.

So the prevailing sales tax rule practicable for small businesses is the one set by the US Supreme Court in 1992, “Quill vs. North Dakota”. (Please see your CPA or tax attorney for details.) Our shopping cart provides full support for sales tax collection and remittance under Quill vs. North Dakota sales tax rules, making collection and remittance of sales taxes as easy for you and your customers as it can be, while ensuring compliance and adequate collection.

Besides the locality of your shipping warehouse (your primary “nexus”), if you have “nexus” elsewhere (which could mean a vacation home in another state), these taxing agencies may come after you for failure to collect sales taxes in secondary localities, too. Even if you have only one "nexus" (your shipping warehouse), you still likely have to pay separate amounts to multiple taxing agencies within your own state.

This, however, requires an accurate database of every county and city in the country. Databases of this type require maintenance, because new cities and zip codes are created every month. Pay a one-time lifetime CCSZ licensing fee of $75, and you do not have to maintain any database; yet you and your customers will benefit when other Triskelon clients and their customers report new cities and zip codes. Your CCSZ license helps cover the costs of maintaining the Triskelon central city/county/state/zip database.
