Blogging Support

As of v4.973, Web Builder's blogging support enables the public to make direct contributions to blogs, either moderated or unmoderated, at the site owner's preference. (Site owners can also elect not to invite public contributions at all.)

The blogging module helps you easily publish a series of related journals or articles on your web site. Web visitors may subscribe via RSS syndication. Blog entry indexes for web visitors and RSS subscribers are automatically generated for you. Multiple topics are supported within the same website: just let us know your topics when ordering configuration.

When site owners create blog entries, just select the appropriate blog folder, then create a new page as you would anywhere else on your website—there's nothing else to do! If you've elected to moderate your blog, then you simply click the “thumbs up” icon to publish or the “x” icon to delete publicly-contributed blog entries. Or you may elect not to moderate, and publicly-contributed blog entries appear without any action on your part. (Specify whether you prefer moderated or unmoderated public blog entries when you order configuration.) Site owners are enabled to prevent public contributors with bad manners from repeat offenses via email validation and banning, even without moderation. Still contributor logins are not required, which will make your site more popular with public contributors!
